TRAINING: Dr. MacKay has trained in some of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions, including Harvard University and Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons.

RESEARCH: Dr. MacKay has lectured around the world on new developments in eye research. She has published more than 40 original peer reviewed scientific articles and abstracts, and several book chapters, on eye disease. She was co-director of the ERG clinic at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for 25 years. She was the first woman to achieve the rank of Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Columbia University (the highest academic title).

TEACHING: Dr. MacKay has lectured at The Lancaster Course in Ophthalmology for 17 years, where she has trained thousands of new ophthalmology residents in retinal disease. She has written and starred in 5 CME (Continuing Medical Education) videos, on diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, the aging eye, and cataract and vitrectomy surgery. (CME videos educate doctors on the latest research and developments in medicine).

AWARDS: Dr. MacKay has been recognized by her peers as an outstanding researcher (American Academy of Ophthalmology Honor Award) and teacher (Richard C. Troutman Master Teacher Award In Ophthalmology).
